Current situation and development trends in compressors for use in large-scale underground hydrogen storage
Underground hydrogen storage is the most promising way to achieve large-scale storage of hydrogen energy in the future.Hydrogen compressor is the core equipment in the process of hydrogen injection,among which centrifugal compressor and reciprocating compressor are the most suitable compressors for large-scale underground hydrogen storage.In this paper,the characteristics of centrifugal compressor and reciprocating compressor are compared in many aspects,and the research and application status of both compressors are introduced.The technical challenges in the compressors for the underground hydrogen storage are analyzed,and some suggestions are provided for the further development of large-scale underground hydrogen storage equipment in China.
