Research on safety shutdown system of centrifuge in case of unexpected power outage under hazardous chemical conditions
In order to solve the problem that the automation program cannot work and coefficient of safety in the production of hazardous chemicals increases sharply when the power supply of the centrifuge is unexpectedly interrupted,a safety shutdown system was designed. The EDLC supercapacitor energy storage device was used to store the inertia energy of the centrifuge, and bi-directional DC-DC converter and UPS power supply were added.During the normal operation of the centrifuge, part of the electric energy was pre-stored to the super capacitor device through the converter control; In case of accidental power failure, the DC bus of the frequency converter is powered by the super capacitor device through the converter to maintain its instantaneous normal working voltage;then the kinetic energy of the high-speed rotating centrifuge is converted into electrical energy by the motor through the inverter unit of the frequency converter and transmitted to the DC bus of the frequency converter. After the voltage rises, the excess electrical energy on the DC bus is charged and discharged to the super capacitor device through the converter control,so that the centrifuge can stop safely and quickly. The system has been applied to GLZ1600 centrifuge with large moment of inertia, the centrifuge takes about 105s from the maximum speed 800 r/min to"zero"speed in case of accidental power failure, thus realizing safe and rapid shutdown, and better ensuring the safety of equipment and materials. This study can provide reference for the safe operation guarantee of the centrifuges of the like type.
