Effect of staged start-up on flow characteristics inside and outside the centrifugal pump system
To further improve the vibration and noise problems of the centrifugal pump starting at the shutoff condition,a centrifugal pump with a specific speed of 200 was taken as the research object, and numerical simulation and experimental verification were combined to analyze the pressure pulsation characteristics under different starting speeds with the limitation of 7%of the ratio of internal pressure fluctuation to design head. And combined with a one-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the switching characteristics of the valve after the pump for the coupling analysis,to ensure the safe and stable operation of the start-up process of the large pump water transmission system. The results show that:To ensure that the absolute vibration amplitude during the start-up of large pumps,it is recommended to use the staged start-up method, when the pump is started at 0.63 time the rated speed,it can be ensured that the amplitude of pressure pulsation at the pressure monitoring points are all below 7%of the design head;valve action law in the pump start-up process is also critical, selection of opening valve in two stages and coordination with the pump staged start-up can well reduce the outlet pressure amplitude, and can minimize the pump start-up of the reversal of the flow rate in coordination with the first slow and then fast valve opening,so that large-scale pumping station operates safely and stably. The research results can provide theoretical basis for the design and operation of large-scale pump water delivery systems.
