Experimental study on compressor and regenerator operation performance in R134a refrigeration unit
In order to study compressor and regenerator operation performance in R134a refrigeration unit, the single variable method was applied to test the operation performance of two components respectively. The operation pressure ratio of the refrigeration unit was used as the regulated variable, compressor discharge temperature, power consumption and isentropic efficiency, and refrigeration unit capacity and COP were used as the evaluation indexes in the experimental analysis. In the experiment, compressor pressure ratio was regulated mainly through controlling evaporation temperature and condensation temperature of the refrigeration unit. The experimental results show that both the compressor discharge temperature and power consumption increase with the increase of compressor pressure ratio, while the cooling capacity and COP of the refrigeration unit and compressor isentropic efficiency decrease with the increase of compressor pressure ratio;Compressor power consumption is negatively correlated with evaporation temperature while other performance indexes are positively correlated with evaporation temperature. Moreover, the experimental data reveals the intrinsic relationship between compressor isentropic efficiency and compressor pressure ratio, the obtained model can achieve a high precision prediction of compressor isentropic efficiency with an average deviation of 0.45%.Finally,variation trend of compressor power consumption and unit performance before and after the regenerator application was analyzed based on the experimental data.Besides the regenerator can obviously improve the unit cooling capacity under low pressure ratio condition,it can improve the unit overall performance by reducing compressor power consumption under most working conditions.
