Study on the flow characteristics of discharge port of a scroll compressor
In order to investigate the influence of the discharge port structure on the performance of the scroll compressor with short profile,a three-dimensional transient numerical model of scroll compressor with the displacement of 38 cm3 was established and verified with a deviation within 9.5%.The effects of the size and shape of the discharge port of the compressor were investigated separately. The results show that when the shape of discharge port is circular, with the increase of the port diameter from 5.2 mm to 9.0 mm,the compressor power consumption decreases by 5.82%.The total mass flow rate grows by 1.09%.The pressure fluctuation and the pressure unbalance between the upper chamber and lower chamber are enhanced obviously during the discharge process; When kidney, arc and composite shapes of discharge port are applied, compared with the 5.2 mm circular port, the compressor power consumption decreases to a certain extent, the total mass flow rate grows somewhat, and the pressure fluctuation and the pressure unbalance between the upper chamber and lower chamber do not change significantly. When the shape of discharge port is composite, the compressor power is reduced by 5.81%,and the mass flow rate is raised by 1.26%;Compared with the mass flow rate, the change of the discharge port has more significant impact on the power consumption. The study results can provide reference for optimizing the discharge port structure of scroll compressors.
