Imperial Military Examination in Ningxia Recorded in the Record of Provincial Imperial Military Examination in Shaanxi-Gansu Lianghe in the Second Year of Yongzheng in the National Library
During the Ming and Qing dynasties,with the central government's control over Ningxia,the cultural and educational undertakings in Ningxia developed rapidly,and a large number of imperial civil and military examination talents emerged.There are more than 30 types of local chronicles from the two dynasties that have been passed down to this day,providing important literature support for us to trace the origin of Ningxia's cultural and educational undertakings,especially the development of the imperial examination.However,in the old local chronicles,there are relatively detailed descriptions of the imperial civil examination,while the contents of the imperial military examination are relatively scarce.The Record of Provincial Imperial Military Examination in Shaanxi-Gansu Lianghe in the Second Year of Yongzheng currently collected in the National Library provides a detailed record of the relevant information of the Ningxia imperial military examination in the second year of Yongzheng,and can supplement the relevant contents of the Ningxia old chronicles that have passed down.What's more,the book preserves the examination paper of Liang Congzhi in the Ningxia imperial military examination,which provides a more comprehensive literature foundation for the study on Ningxia local sages.
