Zhao Ziyong was famous for editing Cantonese Ballads and drawing bamboo and crab.He was removed from office for his involvement in the case of Bao Peng during the Opium War.Because people of that time avoided talking about the real reason for his dismissal,later researchers had a lot of misunderstandings and even constructed a false image of Zhao Ziyong coming down in the world.It reflected the paradigm impact of established cognition on historical record.This paper restores the facts according to the archival historical materials,and comments a little on relevant issues.
