第一次鸦片战争期间,英军侵扰了辽东半岛.在宣宗的高度重视和严厉督催下,盛京将军耆英采取了一系列加强海防的措施.耆英后来调到东南沿海抗英前线,了解到英军"船坚炮利"的巨大优势之后,遂对战争前景悲观失望,开始一味主和,并签订了一系列不平等条约,也因此受到谴责,但其在盛京将军任内对加强盛京地区海防还是起到了一定的积极作用,对此也不应漠视.
Abstract
During the first Opium War,British army invaded the Liaodong Peninsula.Under the high attention and strict supervision of Emperor Xuanzong,Shengjing General Qi Ying took a series of measures to strengthen coastal defense.After being transferred to the front line of the anti-British forces along the southeast coast,Qi Ying learned about the huge advantage of the British army's"strong ships and artillery"and became pessimistic and disappointed about the prospects of the war.He began to insist on advocating peace and signed a series of unequal treaties,which also led to condemnation.However,during his office as Shengjing General,he still played a certain positive role in strengthening the coastal defense of the Shengjing area,which should not be ignored.
