Color in Wu Guanzhong's Paintings:from Representation to Abstraction
Wu Guanzhong was put forward by Lin Fengmian and other early artists who studied overseas.After he returned from studying abroad,he combined his fifty years of learning experience in Western painting to explore the feasibility of the fusion of Chinese and Western culture.In Wu Guanzhong's works,we can see the fusion of Western modernism and Chinese ink painting language expression.Taking Van Gogh and Mondrian,two western artists who had a deep influence on Wu Guanzhong,as examples,this paper discusses Wu Guanzhong's use and reference of line forms in Western artists'works.Combining Wu Guanzhong's theory and art practice,this paper discusses the relationship of color composition in his works.
