Extracellular fluid viscosity:a new physical cue in cell biology
Cell behaviors are regulated by the physical cues in their microenvironment, where extracellular fluid(ECF)viscosity is an important yet relatively underexplored cue.Recent evidence indicates that ECF viscosity plays a critical role in regulating cellular processes with pathological relevance to various diseases, such as cardiovascular related diseases, inflammatory diseases, and cancer.
