Status and Management of Ecotourism in Yunnan Golden Monkey Exhibition Area of Baima Snow Mountain
This paper investigated the current status of ecotourism in the Yunnan golden monkey exhibi-tion area of Baima Snow Mountain through on-site visits,investigation interviews and data review.The results showed that the number of visitors and tourism revenue in the exhibition area increased year by year;the tourist's purpose was to watch Yunnan golden monkeys and had deep cultural experience;the lo-cal residents were mainly minority ethnic groups,with generally low levels of education and weak tourism service skills;the tourism service infrastructure in the exhibition area was rudimentary,with a single prod-uct experience,overlapping tourist trail and grazing paths,which affected environmental hygiene and posed a risk of disease transmission.Based on the survey results,this paper proposed to strengthen the scientific research and protection of Yunnan golden monkeys,increase investment and publicity efforts in exhibition area infrastructure,establish community development institutions,and carry out ecotourism service skill training to achieve coordinated development between the protected area and the community.
