Spatial Characteristics of Natural Protected Areas in Xizang Autonomous Region
By studying a total of 102 natural protected areas of 6 types in Xizang Autonomous Region, qualitative and quantitative analysis on the spatial characteristics of natural protected areas were conducted by using the methods of geographic concentration index, imbalance index, nearest point index and kernel density estimation. The results showed that the natural protected areas in Xizang Autonomous Region were characterized by aggregated distribution. The intersection and overlapping areas showed the characteristics of large intersection and overlapping areas in the Ali Plateau mountain areas in western Xizang, high mountains and deep valleys areas in southeastern Xizang, and a large number of intersection and overlap-ping areas in the Yajiang River Basin in central Xizang. In terms of overlapping types, the overlap be-tween nature reserves and nature parks was the most common type of overlap.According to the evaluation results of the spatial distribution of natural protected areas in Xizang Autonomous Region, the ecological location was important, the protection value was high, the overall layout was basically reasonable, and there was still room for optimization.Suggestions were put forward to promote the construction of national parks, improve the protection system, and optimize the spatial layout.
