An Analysis of the Family Roles and Status of the Unmarried Daughter from Scholar-bureaucrats Families In Song Dynasty Based on Epigraph Data
Taking the unmarried daughter of scholar-bureaucrat families in the Song Dynasty as the research object,this paper,based on historical materials like epitaph inscriptions,combines the unearthed tomb materials of the Song Dynasty with the epitaph documents handed down from ancient times.Through collecting,sorting,and compa-ring these historical documents,this paper analyzes the reasons why they remained single,as well as their roles and responsibilities in the family,and discusses their family status from two aspects:the family education they received before death and the funeral form after death.
