Opera stages, important for stage performance, can be classified into fixed stages and temporary stages,co-existing with each other for long. There being lack of real objects and documentary proofs, little attention has been paid to the academic study of temporary opera stages. This paper, centering around the documentary inscrip-tions during the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, intends to make a study of temporary stage settings in Luoyang local temples, where it can follow the geographical and geomorphic features, built with low cost and ser-ving as a helpful complement to fixed opera stages.Temporary opera stages can play the role of entertaining and moralizing the public, and inheriting and developing traditional culture.
