According to the records in Shang Shu and Shi Ji,YI Yin assisted the king of TaiJia in his accession to the throne,but TaiJia was tyrannous and was exiled to the Tong Palace to reflect on his faults.YI Yin did not seize the throne.When TaiJia realized his mistake,YI Yin came to meet and welcomed the king back.However,in the Bamboo Annals unearthed during the Western Jin Dynasty,it is recorded that YI Yin declared himself the king and was killed by TaiJia,on which the scholars began to debate:Whether YI Yin declared himself the king and whether TaiJia killed YI Yin finally.The debate has lasted over a thousand years and become a mystery.The author made a chronological analysis and found that TaiJia inherited the throne,but was incompetent in ruling the country.YI Yin forced TaiJia to the Tong Palace to make a self-reflection.It was not until three years later that TaiJia realized his mistake and YI Yin welcomed TaiJia back.However,TaiJia didn't change much,and soon after,the tyranny re-curred.YI Yin exiled TaiJia to Tong again.In the 7nd year of TaiJia,the king of TaiJia escaped from Tong Palace,and killed YI Yin.
