In the historical process of constructing the classics of contemporary Henan literature,YAO Xueyin and his masterpiece LI Zicheng is of typical significance.The novel LI Zicheng was written about peasant uprisings of the late Ming Dynasty.Although it shows the basic properties of a historical novel about revolutionary wars,provincial-ism and other Henan elements make LI Zicheng an internal link with contemporary Henan literature.Henan ele-ments in LI Zicheng are not only a narrative strategy to show regional style,but also an important way for YAO Xu-eyin to imagine his hometown in Henan.
