Effect of different mixed substrates on root restricted cultivation of sweet cherry
This experiment mainly studied the effects of four mixed substrates on the growth po-tential,leaf morphology, photosynthetic characteristics, fruit quality, yield, and soil environment of Brooks sweet cherry trees in root restricted containers,in order to select the suitable substrate formu-la for root restricted cultivation of sweet cherries in southern regions. The results showed that among the four mixed substrates, treatment 3(loess∶organic fertilizer∶pindstrup∶perlite=4∶2∶4∶2)and treatment 4(loess∶organic fertilizer∶pindstrup∶perlite=4∶1∶6∶1)performed better;treatment 1(loess∶organic fertiliser∶pindstrup∶perlite=4∶1∶4∶1)and treatment 2(loess∶organic fertiliser∶pindstrup∶perlite=4∶2∶4∶1)was average. In the mixed substrate required for root limited cultivation of sweet cherries in southern China, the proportion of organic fertilizer should be around 10%,and should not be too high.Pindstrup accounts for 33.33%to 50.00%,and perlite accounts for about 16.67%,which can retain water, fertilizer, and air permeability, and promote the healthy growth and development of sweet cherries.
