Sweet cherry has been planted in China for more than 150 years as an introduced species.Because of its high requirements for the growth environment,the cultivation scope of sweet cherry is limited.With the gradual expansion of the area of sweet cherries in China,and there is al-so a phenomenon of blind expansion and planting.As a result,there are many problems,which makes the high-quality fruit rate low and affects the economic benefits.The origin,growth charac-teristics,planting situation in different regions of China and rootstock selection of sweet cherry were reviewed in order to provide some reference for the development of sweet cherry planting in China.
