Luyanghong is a new late-flowering apple variety selected by accidental seedling breeding.Its flowering period is about 7 days later than Red Fuji,which can avoid the harm of late frosts.It has a well-proportioned fruit shape,high yield,early fruiting and good quality.The aver-age soluble solids content is 14.1％,the fruit firmness is 8.6 kg/cm2,and the average single fruit weight is 230 g.This variety fills the gap in late-flowering apple varieties and provides support for the breeding of late-flowering varieties and the development of apples in areas prone to late frosts.
