Mitch Gala is an early ripening apple variety introduced from New Zealand.The fruit is conical with average single fruit weight of 157.9 g.The fruit peel is deep red,the flesh is light yellow with delicate,crispy and juicy,moderate acidity and sweetness and soluble solids content of 13.2%,skin hardness of 7.5 kg/cm2,titratable acid content of 0.235%,and vitamin C con-tent of 3.531 mg/100 g.The fruits ripened at mid-August and can be stored for about 30 days at room temperature.The new variety has good bagging-free cultivation characteristics and can be supplied from August to September.It is suitable for promotion and planting in Ninglang County,Li-jiang City,Yunnan Province and areas with similar climate.
