Design and Simulation Analysis of Double Disc Precision Seed Metering Device for Small Size Vegetable Seeds
In order to reduce the leakage rate,seed damage rate,and seed reseeding rate in the precision seeding process of small-size vegetables,this study designed a double-disk precision seed discharger to improve the opera-tional efficiency of the small-size vegetable seed discharger.The results show that:the optimal diameter of the seed discharging disk is 200 mm,and the thickness is 2 mm;the simulation analysis of the seed discharging process of the seed discharger using EDEM discrete element software found that,at the initial stage of seed filling,the seeds in the seed box appeared to rebound phenomenon,and with the increase of the number of seeds,it gradually tends to be stabilized,and when the discharging disk carries the seeds,the seeds in the box appeared to be perturbed phe-nomenon.Through the analysis of the collision mechanism between the seeds and the seed box,the material of the seed box and its mechanical properties,it was found that in the stage of rotation of the seed tray,the interaction be-tween the seeds in the bottom layer of the seed box leaning into the seed tray increased,and the seeds in the bottom layer showed disturbing phenomena,which led to the increase of leakage,damage,and re-seeding.
