Experimental Study on Sliding Cutting Characteristics of Stevia Stalk
In order to explore the shear characteristics of mechanical harvesting of stevia stems, the sliding cutting characteristics of stevia stems were studied with different diameters, cutting speeds and cutting angles as experimental factors, and the cutting performance of nodes and non-nodes was analyzed. The results show that when the cutting angle is 20 ° to 30°,the load on the stem is the smallest. For the stevia stem with smaller diameter, increasing the cutting speed can effectively reduce the cutting load. When the diameter is larger, reducing the cutting speed appro-priately can effectively reduce the cutting load.Comparing the cutting performance of stem nodes and non-nodes,it is found that the cutting load at stem nodes is smaller than that at non-nodes,and when the diameter is about 6mm,the cutting load at nodes is the smallest, and it is most likely to break during cutting. This study can provide a theoreti-cal basis for the selection of mechanized harvesting, cutter cutting angle, cutting speed and stubble height of stevia.
