Primary Research on Producing Lightweight Straw Boards Using Polyurethane Adhesive
A model was designed to construct an experiment to heat-press the entire straw stalk into a lightweight straw board using straw and polyurethane adhesive.The performance of the board was tested,and main factors affect-ing on its performance were analyzed.A mathematical model was established for some of the performance indicators,and two optimal formulations were obtained.It is feasible to manufacture lightweight straw boards using whole straw and polyurethane adhesive,and range of density is 0.14 g/cm3～0.28 g/cm3 while manufacturing lightweight straw boards.
