Study on the Soil Physical and Chemical Properties and Assessment of Soil Fertility of Mytilaria laosensis Near-mature Forest
Taking Mytilaria laosensis near mature forest in southwest Guangxi as the research object, the differences of 20 soil physical and chemical properties such as soil bulk density and organic matter content in different soil depths were analyzed, providing scientific reference for soil quality improvement and sus-tainable management of Mytilaria laosensis plantation in southern tropical climate. The results showed that according to the nutrient classification criteria of the second national soil census, the soil of this forest was strongly acidic, with a third level organic matter content,a third level total nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium content,a fourth level alkaline nitrogen content, and a sixth level available phosphorus and potassium content. The exchangeable calcium and magnesium content was at a medium to low level, while the available copper, zinc, and boron content were severely deficient.Data analysis shows that Mytilaria laosensis has a strong effect on soil fertility and is suitable for promotion and development in the southwestern region of Guangxi. In forest management,it is necessary to reasonably apply organic com-pound fertilizer rich in nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients to promote the growth and development of trees.
