Soil Carbon,Nitrogen, and Phosphorus Content and Ecological Stoichiometric Characteristics During Forest Succession in the Cold Temperate Zone of the Greater Khingan Mountains
By studying the changes in soil carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus content during forest suc-cession and their stoichiometric ratios, this study analyzes the changes in soil organic carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus content at different succession stages in a 0-200 cm soil layer. The representative com-munities of three typical stages in the forest succession process at the National Positioning Observation and Research Station of the Mohe Forest Ecosystem in Heilongjiang Province, namely the Xing'an Larch For-est,the Larch Birch Mixed Forest, and the Birch Forest, were selected as the research objects, and their carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus contents were analyzed separately. The results are as follows,In the early stage of succession(Betula platyphylla forest),the range of C content is 5.78-28.29 g/kg,N content is 0.243-1.232 g/kg,and P content is 0.243-1.232 g/kg.In the middle stage of succes-sion(mixed larch birch forest),the C content is 6.39-29.41 g/kg,the N content is 0.077-1.472 g/kg,and the P content is 0.41-1.374 g/kg.In the late stage of succession(Xing'an larch for-est),the soil has a C content range of 6.36-34.61 g/kg,N content range of 0.353-1.463 g/kg,and P content range of 0.353-1.463 g/kg.There are also differences in the stoichiometric ratios of soil C,N,and P among different forest types. In the 0-90 cm soil layer, the C∶N range in the early stage is 4.15-11.13,in the later stage it is 5.92-21.85,and in the middle stage it is 5.58-23.24.In the 90-200 cm soil layer, the C∶N range in the early stage is 7.46-19.8,in the later stage it is 4.56-13.09,and in the middle stage it is5.88-18.07.In the 50-200 cm soil layer, the C∶P in the early stage is 4.02-9.11,in the later stage it is 2.24-10.51,and in the middle stage it is 3.32-10.76.In the 0-200 cm soil layer, the N∶P range in the early stage is 0.51-2.95,in the later stage it is 0.28-1.61,and in the middle stage it is 0.36-2.13.Through analysis,it is shown that there are certain changes in soil carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus content and their stoichiometric ratios during forest succession.Understanding these changes can help us better evaluate the changes in nutrient cycling and soil quality in forest ecosystems, and provide scientific basis for forest management and protection.
