Cutting Propagation and Afforestation Techniques of Salix matsudana in Chaoyang Area of Western Liaoning
Salix matsudana,a drought-resistant,cold-resistant,and wind-resistant deciduous tree,is widely used as a windbreak,roadside tree,and landscaping species in arid regions like Chaoyang are-a.Based on the specific conditions of the Chaoyang area and the characteristics of Salix matsudana,this study summarizes the cutting propagation and afforestation techniques of Salix matsudana,including the scientific selection and preparation of nursery beds,land preparation and forming raised beds,handling of cuttings,cutting insertion,nursery bed management after planting,transplantation,out-planting,transportation and heeling-in,preparation of afforestation sites,planting,and post-planting manage-ment.
