The growth and soil physicochemical properties of artificial forest of Parashorea chinensis
In order to protect Parashorea chinensis which is rare and endangered species,we investigated the growth and soil properties of 29 years old plantation stand in Napo county, southwest Guangxi. The results showed that the average DBH,average height and average volume were 28.49 cm,28.30 m and 440.5 m3/hm2 respectively, the net income was 396 500 yuan/hm2.The soil bulk density were 0.819 8-1.174 3 g/cm3 at the layer of 0-100cm,the total porosity was 57.0%-66.3%,aeration was 16.8%-25.0%,the soil maximum water capacity was 46.7%-94.2%,capillary capacity was 34.1%-68.8%,field moisture capacity was 20.8%-42.1%.The soil pH value was 4.64-4.96,organic matter content was 29.58-70.70 g/kg,the total N,P,K were 1.15-2.71,1.38-1.56 and 13.27-15.31 g/kg respectively, readily available N,P,K were 157.68-327.42,0.32-1.21 and 9.93-23.12 mg/kg respectively. The investigation results indicated that the 29 years old plantation of Parashorea chinensis had high growth, loose soil, good ventilation and high soil fertility. As a result, introduction Parashorea chinensis to the similar area could get high biological productivity.
