Effect of addition of microbial inoculants on co-composting of ginkgo used leaves with pig manure and wheat straw
The windrow composting mode with file-turning was selected to study the effect of addition of microbial inoculants on co-composting of ginkgo used leaves with pig manure and wheat straw. The results showed that microbial inoculants addition could promote maturity of the compost,as evidenced by the highest pile temperature (>61.2 ℃) and the longest duration of high-temperature period (one week above 55 ℃).As composting proceeded, the content of pH value, total organic matter and total nitrogen decreased, while the total phosphorus and potassium increased to a certain degree. At 21 days, the index of germination was above 50%, which indicated that pile was maturity.
