The most typical representative of the new era is the application of new technology.As an important part of it,big data has been widely used in contemporary landscape architecture design.There are many new technologies related to big data,such as BIM,virtual reality technology,and so on.In the process of analyzing contemporary landscape architecture design,the application of big data mainly selects BIM and virtual reality as two representative technologies to focus on the discussion.With specific cases as the starting point,the advantages of BIM technology and virtual reality technology application under the background of big data are summarized.Fi-nally,the paper points out the application prospect of big data in contemporary landscape architecture design.
