Growth Difference and Early Evaluation and Selection of Young Picea Koraiensis Families in Western Hubei
By evaluating the genetic architecture of growth and branch relevant traits from 37 13-year-old Picea koraiensis families,we aim to select and breed elite trees for local quality reforestation.4 elite families were chosen by comprehensive selection index,breeding value and neatness with the genetic gain of tree height and breast diameter 9.35%and 8.38%,which could provide quality germplasm materials for the establishment of Picea koraiensis seed orchard and the promotion of clonal afforestation application in western Hubei.
