Acceptance and Recognition of Han Culture by the Xianbei People after Moving the Capital to Luoyang from the Epitaph of the Northern Wei Dynasty
The social formation and mainstream thought had changed greatly after the Northern Wei Dynasty moved the capital to Luoyang, and the epitaph directly reflected this change.Compared with the epitaphs in Pingcheng, the structure of the epitaphs in Luoyang was more complete and the form was more standardized. The contents of the epitaphs also reflected the acceptance of Han culture, reflecting the social trend of thought with Con-fucianism as the core, and also reflected thoughts of Taoist,Buddhist and metaphysics.Meanwhile, the style of ep-itaph calligraphy tended to be the style of the Central Plains with Chinese features, which diluted the feature of frontier wildness and strong brushwork of clerical script in Pingcheng.
