Ironic poetry is an important aspect of Du Fu's poetry creation,and it is also a prominent feature of his poetry art.This research analyzed the reasons for the poetry wrting,the external reasons were attributed to politi-cal darkness and social unrest plus arrogance of dignitaries,and the internal reasons lied in the difficulties in exer-ting his ambition and serving the country plus his vagrant life.Du Fu's classical-style ironic poems during this pe-riod can be roughly grouped into four categories in terms of writing techniques:irony by means of matters,irony by means of things,irony by means of flattery,and irony by means of the past.The use of various techniques contrib-utes stronger literary expression and immortal artistic charm to Du Fu's classical-style ironic poems with more im-plicit and euphemistic emotional expression,more humorous and spicy language,and more sophisticated artistic skills.
