Emotion Transformation of Yuan Zhen Crossing Bailao Pass for Five Times
Yuan Zhen once went through Bailao Pass five times from the fourth year to the twelfth year of Yuan-he(809-817),he expressed the emotions accumulated in his chest during this period,and expressed the emotional changes in the poems.Yuan Zhen expressed his pleasure of successful official career in the poetry when he went on an envoy to Dongchuan in the fourth year of Yuanhe.However,his emotion gradually transformed into the resent-ment after experiencing the disappointed official career due to successive demotion from the fifth year to the tenth year of Yuanhe(810-815).Yuan Zhen went through Bailao Pass for the fifth time in 817 and reminisced about his experiences in the past nine years,and expressed his lament for the impermanence of life in poetry.
