Debates about Reality of Technical Artifacts and Relevant Problems
The debate on whether technical artifacts have a reality status in philosophical research stems from the tension between the material dependence and the intentional dependence of technical artifacts. Some scholars try to defend the reality of technical artifacts by eliminating or weakening their intentional dependence based on re-alism based on function and realism based on analogy. However, these two approaches narrow the connotation and interpretation scope of the concept of technical artifacts, and confuse natural category with real category, which cannot get rid of the epistemological gap between structure and function. One possible approach to solve this prob-lem is to break through dualism based on the antinomy between mind and matter, and to reexamine technical arti-facts with the relationship theory.
