Yao Yongpu's Viewpoint on"State"in Wenxue Yanjiu Fa
Yao Yongpu,an important figure of the Tongcheng School,systematically sorted out and expounded on the scattered"State"issues in ancient Chinese literary theories through his representative work Wenxue Yanjiu Fa.His"State"viewpoint redefined new literary concepts,deduced the theoretical evolution in different historical stages,and completed a relatively strict summary of the"State"category from the cultural perspective of the Tongcheng School.Moreover,in his creative practices such as Tuisixuan Collection and Random Notes on Old News,he manifested the artistic conception of"writing is precious when it is lofty"and"writing is precious when it is far-reaching",the language of"writing is precious when it changes"and"writing is precious when it discards hackneyed expressions",as well as the writing techniques of"writing is precious when it is concise"and"writing is precious when it is florid".Through the interplay of theoretical exploration and writing practice,Yao Yongpua made his contribution for transformation of traditional literary theory.
