Deficiencies in Two Chinese Versions of Little Women——Based on Non-linguistic Context Theory
Based on Non-linguistic Context Theory, two Chinese versions of Little Women,a masterpiece by Louisa May Alcott, translated respectively by Wang Zhiguang and Liu Chunying, are selected for analyzing and some deficiencies are found in both versions in the perspective of situational context or cultural context. It is proposed that the non-linguistic context factors in the works should also be considered in translating so as to accurately convey the intention that the author wants to convey.
