Opera Translation from Perspective of Acculturation Theory——a Comparative Study Based on Trilingual Version of Lippen Schweigen
The translatability of Western operas has always been a controversy in the literary and musical circles.Recent years has seen increasing successful translation of Western operas into Chinese,represented by the German opera Die lustige Witwe.Under acculturation theory,the paper makes a comparative descriptive study of the German,English and Chinese versions of its famous duet Lippen Schweigen under the multiple cross-cultural influence of meaning,melody and rhythm.Based on the existing translated versions of English and Chinese,the paper probes into the acculturation strategies of cultural assimilation,cultural integration,and cultural acculturation in opera translation from the perspective of aesthetics to facilitate the cross-cultural voyage of musical works.
