An Analysis of Deng Zihui's Thoughts on Water Conservancy in 1950s and 1960s
Deng Zihui,as a renowned expert in the peasant movement and rural work within the Communist Party of China, not only reflects on and explores agricultural development, but also frequently focuses on China's water conservancy construction, and has expressed insightful views on water conservancy issues on multiple occasions. From the perspective of"big agriculture",he attached great importance to the important position of water conservancy work and incorporated it into the whole national economic system for overall consideration. He believed that water conservancy is not only related to the normal development of industrial and agricultural production, but also an important part of water and soil conservation, related to ecological environmental protection, and also directly related to the lives, properties and daily life of the people. The level of water control ability is a major test of the ruling ability and governance level of the CPC.At the same time,Deng Zihui emphasized that in the process of building water conservancy projects,we must follow the laws of nature and the mass line, start from reality, rely on the masses, and take care of the interests of migrant workers as much as possible,in order to unleash their initiative and enthusiasm.
