Phonological Variation of Gaolong Hakka Dialect in Tianlin,Guangxi
The Gaolong Hakka dialect in Tianlin County exists in the form of a dialect island,and its ancestors migrated from Meixian County,Guangdong for nearly 200 years.Compared with Meixian Hakka dialect and Wuhua Hakka dialect,Gaolong Hakka dialect retains some phonetic features of the source dialect and has also produced a large number of phonetic variations,such as the appearance of new initials and finals[(l)][(m)][y],and there is only one set of affricates[tʃ][tʃh],part of the entering tone after falling off stop endings read as the rising tone.This is due to the deep contact between Gaolong Hakka dialect and the dominant local language—the Zhuang language and Southwest Mandarin.
