Spatial Pattern and Influencing Factors of Income Distribution Gap between Urban and Rural Areas in China——Spatial Durbin Model Based on Inter-Provincial Panel Data
Based on the Spatial Durbin Model, using the panel data from 31 provinces(autonomous regions, municipalities)in China from 1978 to 2022,this study investigates the spatial pattern and influencing factors of inter provincial urban-rural income distribution gap.The results show that there is spatial dependence and heterogeneity in the income distribution gap between urban and rural areas in China's provinces.Due to the prominent duality of economic development and the intense regional competition environment under"the Promotion Tournament",the industrial employment structure and urban-rural structure have significant short-term spatial spillover effects on neighboring regions. Each region needs to optimize industrial layout, strengthen regional cooperation, deepen institutional reform, promote rural industrial revitalization, and narrow the income distribution gap between urban and rural areas through comprehensive improvement of employment carrying capacity.
