Sharing Helps Improve Well-being:Travel Experience Sharing,Tourist Personal Development and Post-travel Well-being
In the era of social media, people are almost constantly browsing through the life experience shared by others on social platforms and often intentionally or unintentionally sharing their own experience with others on these platforms.Among this vast array of shared experience, travel experience is particularly favored.Traveling allows individuals to break free from the constraints of their daily lives and immerse themselves in entirely different experience, which is why most tourists have a strong desire to share their travel experience with others.Look around, and you'll often find friends and family who have returned from a trip, holding their smartphones or tablets, wearing joyful smiles as sharing their travel experience on social platforms. At this moment, the journey may be over, but the act of sharing travel experience ignites a sense of well-being,continuing to harness the happiness function of the travel activity. However, upon closer reflection, this seemingly ordinary scene is not as simple as it appears. It inevitably raises the question:Why is this so?The well-being effect of travel experience sharing is prevalent in real life and has garnered the attention of some researchers. However, the existing literature lacks a clear understanding of the essence of travel experience sharing, and it has not elucidated the differences in the impact of different types of sharing(desirability vs.feasibility)on tourist well-being.Furthermore,there has been a lack of consideration for the dynamic nature of how travel experience sharing affects tourist well-being,which may be influenced by sharing feedback.Clarifying the process and boundary conditions of how travel experience sharing affects tourist well-being is the primary task of this research. As such, clarifying the process and boundary condition of how travel experience sharing influences tourist well-being is the primary objective of this study.Based on self-determination theory, transformative learning theory, and social identity theory, this paper focuses on the scientific issue of the influence mechanism of travel experience sharing(desirability vs.feasibility)on post-trip well-being.The data analysis of questionnaire survey and situational experiments show that desirability(vs.feasibility)travel experience sharing can stimulate higher post-travel well-being and tourist personal development. The impact of sharing feedback(more vs.less)will have a moderating effect on the after-effects of travel experience sharing, and more(vs.less)sharing feedback can strengthen the impact of travel experience sharing on tourist personal development and post-travel well-being.This paper explores the well-being effect of sharing travel experience in the post-travel stage, and more clearly expounds the theoretical basis and logical path of the role of travel experience sharing in post-travel well-being,and provides theoretical guidance and practical suggestions for effectively improving post-travel well-being.
