A Study on Flexible Employment Boosting Resident Income from a Macro Perspective
As income is the basis for expanding consumption,increasing resident income effectively is the key to stimulating the consumption potential under the current pressure of insufficient effective demand in China.The present paper comprehensively analyzes the impact of flexible employment on resident income from a macro perspective to make up for the theoretical limitations of the existing literature analysis from a micro perspective.Flexible employment is a new form of employment compatible with the development of the digital economy;thus,the convenience of information access and empowerment mechanism of the dig-ital economy provide new possibilities for increasing resident income,which is mainly manifested in the ef-fect of employment creation and income enhancement.Based on provincial panel data from 2006 to 2020,the present paper empirically examines the impact of flexible employment on resident income and its internal mechanism.Further analysis of the policy adjustment effect and regional heterogeneity shows that local governments'policies of promoting flexible employment can effectively improve resident income,especially in the eastern region.Given the main problems in flexible employment,the present paper proposes vigorously developing flexible employment and other new forms of employment with regulation,so as to boost the development of China's digital economy and the growth of resident income.
