Diurnal change, monthly dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of soil respiration in the typical forests of Xinglong Mountains forest ecosystem were identified. The soil respiration rate(Rs)of Quercus wutaishanica forest,Populus davidiana-Betula platyphylla mingled forest,Pinus tabulaefor-mis forest and Picea wilosonii forest were continuously observed by throug the LI-8100 soil respiration measurement room. The exponential equation was used to fit the response of Rs to soil temperature(T5)and humidity(W5).The results showed that the daily variation of Rs of litter and bare land in each stand exhibited a single peak curve of first increasing and then decreasing, but the time to reach the peak was different, and there was a significant correlation between Rs and T5 in each stand. There Rs of each stand all reached the peak in August, with the variation range of 2.6-7.0 µmol/(m2·s).The Rs of each stand in the growth season was consistent with their soil properties:the soil bulk density of Q.wutaishanica for-est and P.davidiana-B.platyphylla mingled forest was low, with high contents of total nitrogen, total phosphorus and organic matter, and their Rs also high. The performance of P.tabulaeformis and P.wiloso-nii was opposite. The contribution rate of litter to Rs in each stand was 59.83%(Q.wutaishanica),41.46%(P.davidiana-B.platyphylla),28.68%(P.wilosonii)and 11.83%(P.tabuliformis)respectively.Rs of each stand covered with litter was significantly higher than that of bare land Rs.The variation charac-teristics of Rs in different stands resulted from the combined effect of water and heat factors, with Rs being most affected by T5,but less affected by W5.
