Xunzi was influenced by Legalism when inheriting Confucius'philosophy of propriety.He proposed to incorporate the law into propriety,innovatively placing propriety and law on an equal footing,emphasizing the im-portance of promoting propriety to the law,incorporating the law into propriety,and valuing propriety,forming his unique thought of propriety and governance,which has important implications and references for today's model of perfect social governance.
