Influence of The Well-facilitated Capital Farmland Construction on Agricultural Product Trade Deficit——Based on the Dual Perspectives of Food Security and Green Development
Based on the perspective of food security and green development, based on the provincial panel data from 2005 to 2017,this paper uses the generalized double difference method to empirically investigate the impact of the Well-facilitated Capital Farmland Construction(WCFC)on the trade deficit of agricultural products and its mechanism. It is found that the policy implementation has a significant"relieving effect"on the trade deficit of agricultural products, and this conclusion is still valid under a series of robustness tests such as parallel trend test;Heterogeneity analysis shows that compared with the western region, the policy effect is more obvious in the central and eastern regions; In addition, the mechanism analysis shows that the implementation of the WCFC can not only improve the trade deficit of agricultural products by consolidating food security and reducing excessive dependence on agricultural products imports, but also improve the trade deficit of agricultural products by accelerating the process of green agricultural development and avoiding green trade barriers. The policy suggestions of this paper are to strengthen the investment of the WCFC,flexibly adjust the regional layout structure of policy implementation and strengthen the path dependence of food security and green development, then improve the trade deficit pattern of agricultural products.
