Chinese-type Modernization and Possible Trends in the Evolution of New World System
Chinese-type modernization is different from capitalist modernization.It has promoted the world historical process with socialist modernization as the core connotation.This process is difficult to include in the theoretical framework of modernization formed based on the previous three major waves of modernization.Therefore,its historical process needs to be appropriately named accordingly.Following the thought of the modernization wave theory,the new modernization process represented by Chinese path to modernization can be positioned as the fourth modernization wave.This wave accelerates the evolution of the modern world system centered on the West.In this evolution,the"center"of the modern world system has undergone a split,which has been transformed into a diversified development of manufacturing networks at the basic level,and into the formation of a global multi cycle system based on multiple manufacturing networks at the structural level.The basic elements of the New World System,which is adapted to the fourth modernization wave,are at least multi-directional globalization,diversified manufacturing networks,and an equal and mutually beneficial global multi cycle structure.
