Does the Digital Economy Weaken the"Beggar-Thy-Neighbor"in the Domestic Market?
Breaking the situation of market segmentation in various regions,giving full play to the advantages of the domestic super large-scale market and the potential of domestic demand,and establishing an integrated market with full and free flow of factors will help accelerate the construction of a new development pattern of double circulation while promoting the formation of a unified national market.As the advantages of digital economy in China's economic construction continue to show,how to grasp the development opportunities of digital economy,further accelerate the circulation of factors and commodities,break market segmentation,eliminate regional market barriers,and promote the construction of a unified national market is a major practical problem facing China.Based on the panel data of China's provinces from 2007 to 2022,it is found that:(1)the development of digital economy can promote the construction of the national unified market,weaken the"beggar thy neighbor",and the construction of the national unified market has a dynamic"dependence"on time;(2)Digital economy promotes the construction of the national unified market by optimizing the business environment and improving the level of regional innovation;(3)There is a nonlinear relationship between the development level of digital economy and the national unified market;(4)The construction of the national unified market has a positive spatial spillover effect;(5)The impact of digital economy on the national unified market has a negative spatial spillover effect.Therefore,we should strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure,encourage cross regional exchanges and cooperation,and increase investment in scientific and technological innovation,so as to promote the construction of a unified national market with the development of digital economy.
