Carbon Emission Estimation and Carbon Reduction Analysis for Manufacturing Domestic Glulam Column
Carbon emission is an important indicator for assessing the environmental impact of the glulam production.The existing carbon emission data used in China were mostly derived from other countries and based on ideal models,which was difficult to truly reflect the carbon emission level of domestic production conditions.We took a typical glulam column made of Pinus densiflora as the research object,based on the field investigation,the carbon emission sources in the production process of glulam column were analyzed.A carbon emissions boundary model and material list were established from two aspects:auxiliary materials and energy consumption.The product carbon emission and unit process emission characteristics were determined,and carbon reduction modes were proposed from the perspective of production technology.The results showed that the carbon emission of manufacturing glulam column was 330.16 kgCO2e/m3;the carbon emissions of the sawn timber production stage and the glulam and wood column production stage accounted for 78.5%and 21.5%of the total,respectively;after the improvement in kiln drying,jointing in length,gluing and transportation,the carbon emission reduction could be achieved by 44.3%,which was a significant optimization effect.
