Research on the Effect of Labor Transfer on Agricultural Production Efficiency——Based on Panel Data from 2001 to 2020
The free flow of labor is an important process of economic development. With the outflow of labor from rural areas, farmland has been abandoned. In order to study the impact of labor transfer on agricul-tural production efficiency at the present stage, based on the panel data of 31 provinces and cities from 2001 to 2020,the fixed effect model is used to analyze the results.Labor transfer will significantly reduce agricultural production efficiency and agricultural production efficiency has negative growth inertia;Regional heterogeneity analysis shows that labor transfer has a significant inhibitory effect on agricultural production efficiency in the central and western regions, but has no effect on the economically developed eastern regions. After analyzing the mediating effect,we find that labor transfer will affect agricultural production efficiency by reducing the number of agricultural machinery used. Therefore,it is proposed that relevant enterprises should accelerate the innovation of labor-saving technologies, government departments should adjust and improve the relevant agri-cultural development policies, all agricultural regions should introduce or train high-quality agricultural person-times,and the whole society should jointly promote the high-quality and efficient development of agriculture.
