摘要
《开煤要法》是中国最早引入的系统介绍近代煤矿技术的西方著作,在中国近代煤矿发展史上具有重要意义.本文通过对《开煤要法》及其底本的对照以及史料的爬梳,探讨其译介特色与传播情况.研究发现,《开煤要法》的翻译体现了实用性、大众化、本土化等特征.另外,经过报刊的报道、译者的个人努力以及官方的重视,该书得到了较为广泛的传播和应用.
Abstract
Kai Mei Yao Fa is the first translated work that systematically deals with coal and coal min-ing in China.Through the comparison of the English and Chinese versions and the examination of archival ma-terials,this article discusses the translation and transmission of this book.It is found that the translation is char-acterized by three features:attaching importance to practicality,highlighting popularization,and emphasizing lo-calization.In addition,with the joint efforts of newspaper,translators and authorities,Kai Mei Yao Fa has been disseminated to a certain extent.
